Over the past several months, our area has experienced a significant amount of not just rain storms, but more notably is the sheer amount of rainfall in such a short amount of time.  The amount of rain can wreak havoc on your landscape, potentially drowning your plants, shrubs, and trees.

Waterlogged soil can prevent oxygen from circulating around your landscape.  If not removed in a timely manner, the lack of proper aeration can lead to root-rot and wilting.  If the water recedes quickly, the plants can restore themselves if the soil dries out and air manages to return.

As the ground begins to dry, many of the plants should return to normal, but keep in mind that the nitrogen needed may have been washed away.  Supplemental fertilizer is suggested to be applied around the plants.  Both synthetic and organic products are available.
